Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best recognized for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is known for playing Detective Diane Russell in ABC's NYPD Blue. The actress also starred on the drama series All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney has a father who was an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also an auntie. Delaney has four older brothers. Although she was a child with a aspiration to become journalist, it wasn't until high school that Delaney began to model. Following her move away from New York City and gaining experiences with commercials at New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. Her first acting job was as a teenage innocent as a child in All My Children, a soap-opera from 1981. Since then, Delaney has been in a variety of film and television dramas. Her professional career has been better than her personal life. The talented actress has had to deal with addiction issues in the past and has been through two marriages that failed. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her sole son.
